WOW...The Hall of Fame...Really!??

Shaina and I got an email late one afternoon in May. The words written were every little girls dream... YOU HAVE BEEN UNIAMOUSLY CHOSEN TO BE INDUCTED INTO THE NORTH CAROLINA SOFTBALL HALL OF FAME... say WHAT!???

This is something that we had dreamed about since we were little. I actually don't know if we really knew what it meant back then but we knew now. See, as little girls all we knew was that we loved throwing the ball around together and we loved playing in the dirt. It's funny to think that is how it all started..throwing and playing. 

We have been able to see the world because of the gam and meet so many interesting people... we have been able to chase a dream for over 26 years...and a week before our 33 birthday... we stood in front of our families and softball community to accept an honor that we dreamt about 30 years before.

You may ask, what does this mean? To us, this means that we have made a positive impact on the game of softball in North Carolina. That we played a tiny part in advancing the sport and that all of the hours and sacrifices we put in... well it was worth it. Even without this honor..it was all worth it. 

BUT WHY?

It was worth it because for 12 years...we had a goal..a dream..and we went after it. We practiced when our friends went to the movies..we missed sleepovers for tournaments...we didn't take vacations..our entire family sacrificed so we could #chaseourdreams...and in that moment..we were able to thank them for that. For always believing in us..and for #chasingdreams with us. 

At the end of the day...none of this would have been what it is without doing it TOGETHER. This journey is so full of ups and downs...that having someone like Shaina to do that with is EVERYTHING to me..to us. 

Now, with T2 Softball Training..we get to keep #chasingdreams..but those dreams now include  helping athletes get an opportunity to train with the best, teaching our athletes how to feel empowered to lead, and what committment and passion look like. We get to do that with our families by our side and we wouldn't trade one stop on our journey...for...it got us here!!
