We started rolling a ball back and forth together at the age of three. Thirty years later, we have traveled the world playing this game, coached All-Americans, won an ACC Championship, played professionally, and were inducted into the NC Softball Hall of Fame... our story is just beginning! 

Shaina Dabbs

Miranda Rodriguez

Dr. Shaina Dabbs graduated with her doctorate degree in Sport Management from The Ohio State University. During her tenure at OSU, she taught numerous courses in fitness, strength training, and management. Her dream was to be a college professor and she is living her dream. She is currently an Assistant Professor in Sport Management at Elon University. Before beginning her degree, Shaina coached two seasons at Georgia Tech. Ervin now Dabbs, was a four-year letter winner at NC State from 2003-07.

In 2011, Shaina helped the Tech pitching staff to a 45-12 record, including a 20-6 record by senior Kristen Adkins, which helped the ace earn All-ACC First Team honors. Tech’s pitching staff recorded an ERA of 2.37, let up just 126 earned runs in 372.1 innings pitched, while recording 354 strikeouts and holding their opponents to a .215 batting average.

Prior to her stint at Georgia Tech, Shaina served as pitching coach at Tennessee-Chattanooga. In two seasons, the Lady Mocs compiled went 69-41 under Shaina’s guidance, winning consecutive Southern Conference regular season championships as well as the SoCon tournament title in 2009. In her last season, the UTC pitchers had a staff ERA of 1.97, 21st-best in the nation.
Shaina coached all-conference and all-region pitchers, while also assisting in all day-to-day aspects of the program. She helped to coordinate off season work-outs for the pitchers, assisted in team travel and developed scouting reports on opponents.

Prior to her tenure in Chattanooga, Shaina spent one season as an assistant coach at UNC-Greensboro where she was involved in all aspects of the program.
Shaina enjoyed a stellar career at NC State and was the first-ever recruit to verbally commit there. She helped build the program into an ACC power by leading them to the 2006 ACC Championship in only the program’s third year of existence.

Shaina, the 2006 ACC Tournament MVP, led the Wolfpack to their first-ever ACC title and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. During her career, Ervin carried a 1.81 ERA in over 700 innings and she stands second in program history for wins (55), appearances (124), starts (105), complete games (72), shutouts

Miranda is the owner of T2 Softball Training alongside her sister, Shaina. What started as a dream has now became a reality with their very own facility. Wanting to be closer to one another, Miranda and Shaina decided to settle in Burlington, NC to pursue dreams that brought them closer to one another and to the sport they love so much. Miranda spent 2 seasons in Philadelphia as the Head Softball Coach at Drexel University. Prior to her time in Philadelphia, Ervin was the assistant softball coach for the Carolina Diamonds, a professional softball team in the National Professional Fastpitch League. There, in 2012, she was named part of the Coaching Staff of the Year.

Prior to helping lead the Carolina Diamonds, Miranda was the Head Softball Coach at Queens University of Charlotte. In Miranda’s second season at Queens University of Charlotte, the Royals reached 30 wins for the first time in six years. Senior pitcher Chantel Dodge was also named Conference Carolinas Pitcher of the Year for the second time in her career.

Joining the Queens staff in 2008 as an assistant, she worked predominantly with the pitchers and the catchers. Miranda had an immediate impact, as pitchers have ranked as high as10th in the nation in strike outs, and have earned honors including pitcher of the week, student athlete of the month, all-tournament team, and all-conference. Individual success carried over to the team, as Queens was crowned Conference Carolinas champions en route to an appearance in the semifinals at regionals.
Miranda has been a member of Team Fiorini Professional Softball team in Fiorini, Italy, both as a player and an assistant coach. Many of Miranda’s teammates were members of the Italian Olympic Softball team.

During her time at N.C. State she was a four-year catcher for the Wolfpack’s softball team. During her junior season she helped the Pack to defeat Pacific with a pinch-hit walk-off grand slam.  For her career at N.C. State she appeared in 222 games, had 168 hits and recorded 26 homeruns.
